Charlotte is one of the most important cities in North Carolina, U.S.A., and the capital of Mecklenburg county. Many know it as Queen City in honor of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, old Queen of Great Briitain. Charlotte is really close to the border with South Carolina and has become one of the most important cities in the US resembling aerial transport due to its location. That's where it got its own nick name:... «south international gate». Queen city's an all audience and all ages destination since its to do list is long and diverse. It's known for the NASCAR, one of the biggest and most important car races in the US, but also for int NFL team «Carolina Panthers» or the Discovery Palace, one of the best combined education and fun museums in the nation.
Charlotte has many more things to offer: botanical gardens, parks, and shops. The combination makes it for an exciting city full of life! Besides, it has many local breweries and farmers' marketplaces which whet gastronomy lovers' appetite. Charlotte has quite a moderate and wet climate. In winter temperatures rarely go below 0ºC and rain is not common, so snow in the city is quite unusual. The summer's hot and humid with temperatures rising above 30ºC on average. Though the months with the most rainfall are March and April, short downpours are common on sunny days. November's the driest month.
