Doha is the capital of Qatar, a country located in the Arabian Gulf bordering with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and surrounded by the Arabian sea. The word “Doha” or “Ad Dawha” in Arabic, means “roundness”. One of the most visited sites in Doha is the Pearl Qatar, which is a luxurious construction located on an artificial island with the shape of string of pearls. Most of the country is desert, but you can... also find some flora and fauna in it, for example, in the Purple Island, located just 40 km away from Doha city centre. One of the most common hotspots in the city is the Souq Waqif, a traditional cultural bazaar where you will find a wide variety of products, many restaurants, shisha places etc… As a curiosity, the falcons are the traditional birds of Qatar, and in the Souq Waqif you will find a veterinary centre for these animals. Some of the best beaches in the country are: Fuwairit Beach, Dukhan Beach, Simaisma Beach, or Sealine Beach. The commercial district of Doha is the West Bay.

Weather
In general, Qatar has an arid and hot desert climate. In Doha, the weather is always warm or hot and the nights use to be cool. The summer is very long in Doha, from May to September, with avarage temperatures of more than 38°C, very often reaching the 45°C. During the winter it is relatively warm and cool during the night.
Store Hours
Usually, the work days in Qatar are Sunday to Thursday, being Friday and Saturday the weekend days. Usually the banks are open from 7:30h to 13h, but some located in shopping centre also open in the evenings. The main shopping centres open from 10h to 22h and they usually just close on Friday mornings.
