Garfield park conservatory is one of the jewels of Chicago, and the adequate place if you visit the city on a cold day. It’s a botanic garden where they have greenhouses –the entrance is free of charge- where plants of every kind and of every color are grown. There's an endless sample of wildlife and the mix is spectacular. During winter, the gardens on the outside are almost desert-like, but when the spring comes they start to plant in the gardens that are open air and the result is incredible. There are several gardens in the area, and some of them are dedicated to children and painters too.
The appearance of the greenhouses are also a thing to look at, and are known for their design –made by the architect Jens Jensen- which was revolutionary at the time, because they were built in 1900. Many define the place as the “The art of the landscape beneath glass".
