The Saint Peter Cathedral (Saint Pierre) is one of the must-visit buildings in Geneva. The cathedral is located on the top of the Old Town and it is quite surprising how many architectural styles it combines, from the gothic to the neoclassical. The temple has become famous for being the church of John Calvin, one of the highest exponents of the Protestant Reformation. You still can see the wooden chair where the theologian used to sit. From the cathedral’s tower you can see breathetaking views to the whole city and the Lake Geneva. In addition, under the cathedral there is one of the largest archaeological sites of the 14th century in Europe.
