The State Historical Museum is one of the most famous buildings in Moscow's Red Square. This spectacular red building houses Russian history from the Paleolithic to the present day with exhibitions, displays of all kinds and tons of invaluable ancient artifacts. Before being one of Russia's most important museums, this building was home to the University.
Even if you're not interested in history at all, you won't regret a visit inside the building just to see the room's opulence and the alluring decoration that's indeed worthy of a palace. The highlight of the museum is the collection of the time of the czars. You will be amazed by everything in there.
