India Gate is one of the most famous buildings of Mumbai and the city symbol. It was built to commemorate the visit of King George V of England in
1911 on the waterfront, next to the port, in order to be the first thing that the boats saw when they were arriving in the country.
The door is 26 meters high and although its architecture is spectacular, the place gathers lots of tourists and residents which makes the place have a colorful street life. It also serves as a meeting point among the Indian to celebrate events or to organize them.
