The Camp Nou football stadium is quintessentially Barcelonian. It is in the Les Corts neighborhood and it's the place where the Barcelona Futbol Club, known worldwide as El Barça, plays soccer. It is the largest stadium in Europe -With a capacity for nearly 99,500 spectators! - and it has the highest qualification that FIFA can give to a stadium for soccer events: 5 Stars.
Although Camp Nou is not Barcelona's only stadium that's dedicated to the sport itself it is the most famous worldwide. In fact, its museum is one of the most visited ones in Catalonia and Spain.
The stadium opened in 1957 and gradually has been rehabilitated to become what it is today. But not for long, as the Barca Club has planned a remodeling, that will mean a facelift for the Palau Blaugrana and a considerable improvement for its appearance and structure.
Camp Nou is a must if you're a soccer fan. If you have time, don't just visit the museum and try to capture the energy and excitement with a match. Although you must be clever and watch closely for games and ticket sales, especially if there is a big game coming up. Geting them is not as easy as it seems as there are many people who want to attend this sporting event. Bear in mind that this is one of the most famous football clubs in the world!
