Potjiekos is one of the most authentic South African dishes. It's cooked outdoors in a very characteristic iron pot. The vegetables are put inside the container -cauliflower, pumpkin, cabbage or carrots are the most common ones, then meat and rice or potatoes to taste are added. All these ingredients are simmered and when the dish is at it's exact point, different spices are added to give it that African touch that characterizes it. It is an amazing and very authentic South African dish, if you have the time, don't forget to try it.
