Massena square is considered the very center of the city of Nice. It was built in 1840 but it was renewed in 2007. It is a charming square which has become famous for the sculptures of the Catalan artist Jaume Plensa. The art piece is called Conversation À Nice and it is a set of 7 sculptures of resin with a shape of a person sitting like squatting, of 12 metres high and which represents the 7 continents. These sculptures have light during the night and it is worth to stop and observe them. A part from these sculptures, in the South of the square you can see the Fontana du Soleil and from there start walking through the Promenade des Arts.
