Henri Matisse spent his last years in Nice. There he developed his cut technique. With the help of his assistants, Matisse cut big and colourful shapes and put them together creating big art pieces like The Snail. Some of these amazing art pieces can be seen at the Matisse Museum, located in a 17th century villa very near the park des Arènes de Cimiez. This museum has one of the biggest collections of the artist and the entrance is for free. After your visit to the museum you can also explore and take a walk in the park.
