The Kurtos kalacs is a very common sweet in Hungary but also in Romania. They are made from a flour with yeast which is stuck around an iron stick with sugar spread on top. Cooked on coal while buttering going over to get a tan texture. The result is crispy, sweet and it can be added the specific taste like cinnamon, honey or walnut. It’s a cheap and easy dessert to find on the street.
