The Hungarian Parliament in Budapest, is undoubtedly one of the most majestic buildings in the city. It’s located next to the bank of the Danube on the Pest side and whether from Buda, or from a boat in the Danube, the view of the imposing building is spectacular. It’s the largest building in Budapest and was built between 1885 and 1904. You can visit the building booking tickets online and at a reasonable price, a good opportunity to get to know its architecture and the historical context that goes with it. A good idea is to end the visit in the afternoon, just a little before sunset, to have the chance to see it day and night because it's spectacular at both times.

Just 300 meters away from the building lays the Jewish Memorial, a sculpture designed by the film director Can Togay in honor of the Jews who died during World War II killed by the fascists. The sculpture reproduces different shoes, all glued to the floor next to each other and facing the Danube River. The scene represents what women and men lived during the war, forced to remove their shoes and jump into the water or climb into a boat to be taken to the horror of the concentration camps.
