Also “Lake Nasser”, it is a beautiful reservoir in the south of the country. It is not near Cairo, but if you have some extra time while in Egypt, we definetely recommend to go to Nasr Lake and its surroundings. It is one of the biggest man-made lakes in the world, with its widest point at the Tropic of Cancer. It was built between 1958 and 1970 and its name is in honour to the Egyptian Revolution leader Gamal Abdel Nasser.
