The mandolato is one of Venice's most famous sweets and it also very traditional in some parts of France and Greece, basically it is soft nougat with a dough made of sugar, honey, egg and almonds. It's easy to spot it in the bakeries' windows because the sweets prepared with the classic recipe have a very characteristic white color, although there are many more recipes.
