Basilica of Bom Jesus (Borea Jezuchi Bajilika), is one of the oldest churches in the history of Christianity in Goa and India. The church was consecrated in 1605 and UNESCO has currently declared it a World Heritage Site. It’s located in Old Goa and it has a baroque architectural style. In fact, it’s considered one of the most representative buildings of this style in India.
Among other highlights, it houses what currently is one of the most important pilgrimage temples across the country. In addition, inside the temple there’s St. Francis Xavier’s tomb, a Navarrese missionary who stood out for his missions in India and Asia.
