Panaji’s the capital of the Indian state of Goa. For 450 years it was occupied by the Portuguese colonization and the Indians recovered it in 1961. Panaji’s the third most important city in Goa, Vasco de Gama's the first and Margao the second. It has a port oriented towards the Mandovi river, which facilitates the arrival of cruise ships and boats. The Portuguese influence can be seen in many of the city's buildings, there are lots of yellow and ocher in many of the facades in the streets. Panaji’s a city that invites visitors to stroll, enjoy the scenery and eat well. It has a very wide range of restaurants, bars and boutiques with both charm and personality.
