The Sibelius Monument, located in the park with that same name, is one of the most visited places in Helsinki. The author of the work was the sculptor Eila Hiltunen and it’s dedicated to the famous Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Its so-characteristic form consists of two parts: on one hand, the head of the composer, and on the other, a famous sculpture composed by hundreds of steel pipes.
Sibelius composed musical pieces like "Finland" and such has been his impact that this composition is already synonymous with Finnish patriotism and the struggle for independence.
The park is open every day from sunrise to sunset and the entry is free.
