The Uspenski Cathedral is orthodox and it's the largest one in Western Europe. This feature makes it one of the must visit religious monuments in Helsinki. The building was built in 1868 and is dedicated to Virgin Mary. It's located on a hill and its construction has a clear Russian influence: the outside was made with red bricks, the domes are green and golden and are shaped as an onion with Orthodox crosses.
To reach it, one must cross the Bridge of Love and, as the name suggests, many lovers have decided to leave a padlock there, symbolizing their undying love. The walk to visit the cathedral is very nice.
It's, obviously, a visit you can't miss.
