The peculiarity of the Temppeliaukio church, and what makes it famous, is that it is completely built inside a rock. Dubbed the "Rock Church", this Lutheran church is one of the busiest points of the Finnish capital, work of the architects Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. The construction keeps the stone walls unfinished, which makes the church enjoys an incredible acoustic. That's why many concerts are organized inside. Besides, the roof is covered by a huge copper dome that makes it even more striking. And a curious detail, the church has no bells. Another interesting point is that the entry is free.
