Macarella and her small sister, Macarelleta, are two of Minorca's best known and most pictured beaches. Their great attractive, just as in other beaches on the island, comes from their white, fine sand, their turquoise waters and the pine woods at the back to rest or take cover from the Sun. Macarella has a little beach bar hidden among the trees to buy refreshments or even seat at a table for a meal. You can reach Macarelleta either from the sea or walking from Macarella. It's a nice walk with great views of the Mediterranean and a wonderful natural surrounding.
Macarelleta is traditionally a nudist beach though with so much tourism not many people swim naked anymore. It's flanked by small cliffs and has kept its charm thank to the local government's preservation work. When you visit them you'll see exactly what we mean, though it's best to go during non-normal beach hours in summer or during some other season when they're not packed.
