Soups are Russian cuisine's basic dishes. There are plenty of classic recipes of soups that will leave everyone satisfied, but the most famous ones are Borshch, prepared with beet, beef and vegetables, Shchi prepared with cabbage, carrot and potato, or Solianka, prepared with fish. In Russia they usually eat soup all year long -Even during the summer - and almost on a daily basis!
