Hymayun's Tomb monument is the ancestor and source of inspiration for one of the jewels of India, the Taj Mahal. Humayun's Tomb is the tomb of the second Mughal emperor of India with the same name, Hymayun, and it was finished building in 1570. The mausoleum has influences of Persian architecture and one of its great attractions is that this resort is not very popular among tourists as the Taj Mahal. Therefore, there are far fewer people who visit it. The most recommended is to visit this monument first and then go to Agra to see its successor and architectural descent, the Taj Mahal. Hymayun was constructed with two basic materials: reddish sandstone and white marble. Around this building full of details there’s a quiet garden to walk around.
This monument was declared a World Heritage Site in 1993.
