The Qutb Minar is the tallest brick minaret in the world with 72.5 meters. and nearly 3 meters in diameter. It's also the oldest Islamic monument in the city of New Delhi. It was built in 1193. Right next to the minaret is the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque and around these two buildings there's a complex of monuments that extend the archaeological remains of Lal Kot, the red city of ancient Dhillika.
The charm of this place is indescribable and the best time to visit is at sunset, when the red and earthy colors of the buildings create a fantastic atmosphere. In addition, at that time the heat is stifling, there are fewer people and the light is much nicer. The place is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1993.
