The Longshan Temple is one of the most popular and crowded temples, both by the Taipei citizens and the tourists. It is a temple dedicated to the Buddhism and the Taoism, and every day many people go there to sing, pray and give offerings.
Like many other shrines in Taiwan, this temple (made of several buildings) has been rebuilt several times after typhoons, earthquakes and even bombs which fell during the Second World War. The constructions are full of details like mosaics, figures, eaves, columns etc… And it is definetely a good place to admire the Chinese traditions and specially of Taiwan and its essence. The entrance is for free and a good idea is to visit it when the Taiwaneses go to pray: between 6 and 8 in the morning and at 17 in the afternoon. You can take pictures inside.
