Ximending is a very popular neighbourhood of Taipei to go shopping and for the youngest ones. Most of its streets are pedestrian, and actually, it was the first area to be adapted for the passer-by in the whole Taiwan. You’ll find there all fashion new tendencies, but also the more alternatives, as well as the Japanese culture in the country. Many people consider this area as the Shibuya (the commercial around the most crowded station in Japan).
Furthermore, many shops and stores are open until late, and that’s why the local people call it the night market. You’ll also find there cheap restaurants of Asian food, clubs, bars… You won’t be bored for sure. It is very easy to access to this area by public transportation but also by car, it is well connected. It is usually full of people, so it is recommended to take care of your personal things and also to pay attention to not get lost.
The Shilin Night Market is another very famous market in the Shilin district in Taipei. The largest night market in Taiwan is very interesting to visit after the sunset to admire many activities and environment you wouldn’t see in another market.
Raohe Street is a street is a street full of life during the night also in Taipei. Its is a pedestrian area full of taiwanese food spots and a good place to meet local people and to understand a bit better their culture.
