The hummus is one of the dishes that countries that are not from the Near East, fell in love. Usually, in the countries of this area the vegetables are a really common ingredient in the dishes. The chickpeas are on every stock and in Jordan, as in many other places, they are a recurrent food. The hummus is a healthy, simple and nutritious dish. It consists on a mashed chickpea dough with a little bit of garlic, oil, semolina and tahini to homogenize the dough. When the dough is ready, they add a little bit of red pepper, although is optional. It is eaten with pita bread, sticks, vegetables or any other ingredient that fits your imagination.
