Beihai Park is one of the locals favourite and best preserved green areas. It was the garden of several Chinese dinasties for many centuries 'till it was made public in 1925. There's a huge lake which covers half the area and both locals and tourists love to rent a boat and sail around the park. In the middle of the lake there's the islet of the flowery Jade with the white Dagoba, a lampshade shape white building built when Marco Polo visited the city. It's the highlight of the park and you can get to it through several pathes coming from mainland.
The parñ has several pavilions, temples and enclosures worth dedicating some time. Besides, the flora turn it into the perfect escape from the city's racket.
