Markets in Beijing are a huge tourist attraction! There are all kinds of things for sale, man fake ones, and all things are quite reasonably priced. They're also the right place to taste the traditional or strange food in the country. In Wangfujing street (one of the lifeliest in the city) there are all kinds of restaurants, take-aways, malls and souvenir stores.Among the alleys there's the night Market, a very popular place to try the country's oddest flavours: seastars, spiders, scorpions, roaches... If you don't like bugs though, you can't miss the Silk Market to buy clothes. It's a huge, four-storey mall filled with forgeries of all sorts. You must be careful both with clerks and when haggling though, just as in the rest of the markets, since people can get a little aggresive!
