Ayran is one of the most common drinks to accompany meals in Turkey and also in other parts of the Middle East like the Balkans and Armenia. This drink is withe, because its main ingredient is yogurt made from sheep's milk mixed with water, a prime of Turkey's diet. One of the things that make it more interesting is that they often add a little salt, lemon and even garlic so the flavor is intense and slightly acid. Ayran is served cold in a jar and and it's often served with your meal, usually meat or pasta.
